The story of Ethiopia’s Jews and their remarkable link to Jerusalem and Israel throughout many centuries is one that must be told. It relates very strongly to themes of Tisha B’Av, looking both backwards at the destructions marked on Tisha B’Av and forwards towards the redemption to come.
We are delighted to present this conversation together with the Israeli Embassy in London and the Israeli Consulate in Miami, featuring Kasa Bainesay-Harbor, Israel’s Consul in Miami and Raffi Berg. Kasa grew up in Ethiopia until her family immigrated to Israel. Raffi is the author of the acclaimed book Red Sea Spies about Israeli intelligence’s secret operations to bring the Jews of Ethiopia to Israel.
